Tide Plus Ultra Oxi White and Bright Liquid Laundry Detergent

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love Tide and have always used your brand. I am disappointed with the ultra oxy white and bright. It is staining my colored clothes thank goodness if I put them through the wash again without soap the stain comes out. I actually threw out an expensive pair of fig scrubs before learning the stain would come out. I have tried to wait to put the soap in until after the washer fills with water but it still leaves a stain. I would like to be refunded so I can buy a different tide product

I have used several Tide formulas recently with no issues; I figured I’d try this one because I was looking for something to brighten whites but when I opened the bottle the scent almost knocked me out. This is by far the most disgusting smelling detergent I have ever used. It smells like chemical. I honestly don’t know that I can even use the rest of it. What a waste of money.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve always used the original Tide so I was happy to try the Ultra Oxi White +Bright Tide detergent, especially right before baseball season. This Tide worked just as well as the original and definitely helped make my son’s white baseball pants even whiter. The scent was kind of strong but not unpleasant. I’d recommend this detergent to people who want to keeps their whites white.

Tide is not worth the money. It did not get out any of my stains. I mean none of them the ring around the collar some rusting other stains do better with a cheaper brand. Same amount of cleanliness. In fact cheaper brand cleans better.

We thought it would never come out! My daughter Emily invariably decides to wear her whitest clothes when she eats the messiest foods. So when I cooked up my spaghetti and meatballs for her and she was wearing her bright white cheerleading turtleneck, I had a feeling it wouldn’t end well. And not even a few bites in our fears were realized, a rogue meatball fell off the fork and right down the front of her shirt. My meatballs swim in grease. So to say she was upset was an understatement. It was covered in a trail of sauce and grease and on an all white shirt there was no hiding it. Thankfully we had recently saw the new ad for Tide Oxi White And Bright, in which Emily said she could be a future advertisement star for, and got it right away to store away in the laundry room for moments like this. And amazingly enough after one wash, the stains were gone. Spaghetti sauce AND grease gone in one wash. We were both thrilled. She will absolutely be packing this with her when she goes away to college this fall.

My clothes smell fresh and it doesn't feel like it leaves behind any residue on the clothes. I have noticed that my colors seem brighter and my whites seem whiter which I love. Lastly, I have a medical condition that makes my skin very sensitive but this laundry detergent hasn't caused any problems or reactions so I believe it is sensitive skin approved.

The tide oxi-bright has to be by far the best I’ve tried so far. It’s gentle on colors so I am using it in every single load, and for once I feel like I don’t smell like I have two cats. Not sure if it's my washer or what it is. It does have a scent to it. I do feel like It does clean clothes well as far as taking the stinky smell from clothes. I recently had issue with another Tide product that was supposedly safe on colors that ruined some of my darker clothes but this was perfect & I had no issues! My whites came out clean & gleaming, & the colors were bold. I do not have a HE washer & used less than the recommended amount. A few stubborn stains were gone & the clothes came out of the washer smelling fresh & clean, no strong deterhent scent, which is the way I want them. The pour spout was already broken when I received it, but the plastic is the most thin piece of plastic I've ever seen in a detergent bottle. As a result the liquid made a huge mess when I poured from it the first time. We were able to remove the plastic entirely but it's still messy. Beware of you purchase this size!

I normally use Percil so I have based my views comparing the two. In terms of cleaning power, tide definitely cleaned better but in terms of the fragrance, the tide was too overwhelming. When it came out of the washer and dryer it smelled amazing and got all the stains out PLUS made the fabric brighter like the bottle says. I would definitely buy this detergent.

I was especially impressed that the detergent removed body odor from workout clothes! I use no more than 2 tablespoons per large load, and the detergent is still very effective on odors. Negatives: This detergent is a bit too scented in my opinion, but at least the scent is a softer, more muted scent than most other major brands. I also noticed that the detergent alone didn’t get rid of tougher dirt and paint stains on my kids’ clothes, so an additional stain remover is needed for some stains.

I like that the cap used to measure the detergent, is really easy to take off of the bottle too! And, the size of the cap is nice! You can do smaller loads of laundry, or large loads of laundry. The size of the bottle of detergent is also big, and lasts quite a while which I like! The best thing about this detergent, is that it has an odor remover in it! So, you get really clean clothes, and they also smell good! This is great, because I have kids! It's also made for HE machines, so you really don't have to use much detergent for each load either. A little actually goes a long way, even if you have a large load of laundry! This detergent also gets out stains really easily! It leaves clothes looking new and fresh each time! It has a clean scent like Tide original. I use Tide because it has good cleaning power and this version is no exception. Other detergents can seem watered down, but Tide is never that way. I can’t say I noticed a big difference in the whiteness and brightness of what I washed but maybe it makes a difference on bright whites or more soiled items? I like that it is safe to use on colors. The detergent is unscented but still has a basic clean laundry scent. I like how you can also use this detergent on colors and not just whites. The cap is durable, easy to hold and shows a measuring scale. It's also very easy and mess-free to pour back any extra detergent into the bottle if need to. As far as the "advanced stain removal"... The whites are brighter but it did not fully remove stains. I normally use Purex and comparing the two... There really isn't much difference. Not sure if I would switch to this detergent because it didn't really impress me that much. I took before and after photos of my shark vacmop cloth to show how the Tide detergent cleaned. The pic on the wooden floor was taken pre-wash of the cloth and the pic on top of the dryer was taken after washing/drying.

I am a veteran laundress no not really but I feel like I am because we are a family of 5! Lots of laundry, lots of stinky, sweaty, stained sports laundry……etc I forgot to take a before photo of the stains that were on this pillow but I hope you can see that there are no more stains from the pic! There were yellow sweat stains embedded in it. So, what I did was take a little of this detergent, rub it on the stains and let it sit for about 5 mins. I then put in my front loading washer on normal, warm cycle, added the detergent and hoped for the best. I fluff dried the pillow since it is firm and voila! The pillow is now stain free! Amazing! I normally use another popular brand but I will definitely purchase this again just because it worked well on the first go around. I was pleasantly surprised since I’ve tried other brands that claim they are stain lifters/removers. It smells good, easy grab handle and does not leak. No wonder why Tide brand has been around forever…. They always try to improve their product and this is a good detergent to have in your house especially with kids, pets etc.

Nothing different about the packaging; same as other brands. The scent is actually quite nice and the Oxi power boost is very evident when I washed a load of whites!! Not sure it does anything to brighten my colors, but my whites were definitely whiter!!I’d probably buy some just for this aspect of cleaning power especially because you only have to use the detergent alone without any additional boosting liquid or powder. With its promise of next-level stain-fighting capabilities, I had high expectations, and I'm thrilled to say it exceeded them all. My bedsheets have stains throughout, so I applied a small amount directly to the stains as a pre-treatment, tossed it in the washer, and let Tide work its magic.
